A Polymer80 pistol is by far the easiest 80% gun to finish. In this post, we will show you what tools we used in our PF940SC completion video and when we used them. This is an old post and I have restored it due to popular demand. There has been a lot of changes in how to build a Polymer80 since April of 2019 when I first posted this.
I would suggest you check out the classes from my good buddy Marine Gun Builder over at Freedom Crew University. He has taken Polymer80 building to new heights. And we absolutely don’t do the build with drill presses any more. Back in the day, Polymer80 used to send a mill bit and this was the origional method of completeion.
PF940SC Dremel Completion
Drilling the frame
4 1/2″ Vice – Hold the Frame and Jig
Vice Jaws – Hold the Frame and Jig
Hobby Knife – Clean up extra plastic
Cutting the frame with nips and a Dremel
4 1/2″ Vice – Hold the Frame and Jig
Glock Vice Block – Hold the frame in the vice
End Nips – Cut the tabs
Dremel – Trim the tabs
Dremel Reinforced Cut Off Wheel – Trim the tabs
Drum Sander Set – Trim the tabs
1911 Locking Lug File – Trim the tail off the rear tabs
Card File – Used off camera to clean the file
File Handle– Never use a File without a handle for safety purposes
320 Grit Sand Paper – Smooth Tool Marks out of Frame Rail
