While Type 3 failures are relatively uncommon, They can be tough to deal with in the field. In this #shorts I go over the type 3 failure drill.
A type 3 failure is a failure to extract. hopefully, this failure to extract is just a bad rim on a cartridge and not a failed extractor.
Follow this drill to deal with type 3 failures. While historically we have been told to rack our slide several times, new training suggests that you only need to rack once with a new mag inserted. I continue to use the multi-rack method as that is what I have been taught and trained with.
