5.11 Covrt 18 Backpack – Your next EDC?

I have been running the 5.11 Tactical Covrt 18 backpack for my everyday carry (EDC) for over 7 years. The following video will walk you through the basics of this pack and how I have mine set up. The question remains, is this your next EDC pack? Watch the video and read on to find out.

5.11 Covrt 18 Backpack – Why I chose it

I ran into a problem where I could not carry my firearm on me at my day job but I still needed to have it with me. Typically this leads me to have to do a pocket carry or move to an off-body carry solution. Since pocket carry makes me have to run a micro-frame pistol  (and I have big hands) I decided to run off body.

The solution that worked for me was the Covrt 18 backpack. This allowed me to carry a pistol in the pack and still have it available in a hurry. What I like about the pack is that I can carry different sizes of pistols with a minor change in the velcro position of the retention strap. This pack has carried my P220 (full size), P229 (compact), P320 (carry and compact) pistols as well as my Beretta 92 and 96 pistols. Since my pistol was not physically on me, I carry with an empty chamber. This allows for time should the pack get out of my control to remediate the situation.

This pack is large enough to carry everything you may need for either business or school. I can fit my laptop in the padded sleeve and still have plenty of room for my cables and connectors. Watch the video and see for yourself just how much room this has in it!
