Tools used in the Beretta 92 96 M9 Series Videos

In the Beretta 92 96 M9 Series of videos, I used several tools and I figured that I would share what I used for each step in this post. There are affiliate links in this posting to get you to the exact product that I own and used in the video series. Not all links are affiliate links.

Locking Block Spring Pin Removal

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Drive out Breach Block Spring Pin

Brownells Universal Pistol Armorers Block (you can use a piece of 2X4 with holes drilled into it as well)

8 oz Ball Peen Hammer

Slide Disassembly

Removing the Firing Pin Block and Spring

Brownells Universal Pistol Armorers Block (you can use a piece of 2X4 with holes drilled into it as well)

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Drive out the Firing Pin Block Spring Pin

8 oz Ball Peen Hammer

 Removing the Safety Lever

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Drive out the Right Safety Wing Spring Pins

3/16″ Punch – Push in on the Firing Pin Striker

5″ OAL Needle Nose Pliers – Remove Trigger Bar Detent and Spring

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Push Striker out of Safety

Removing the Extractor and Firing Pin

Brownells Universal Pistol Armorers Block (you can use a piece of 2X4 with holes drilled into it as well)

5/16″ Punch – retain firing pin into the Slide

1/16″ Punch – Drive out Extractor Pin

8 oz Ball Peen Hammer

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Install Breach Block Spring Pin

Brownells Universal Pistol Armorers Block (you can use a piece of 2X4 with holes drilled into it as well)

Install Firing Pin

Brownells Universal Pistol Armorers Block (you can use a piece of 2X4 with holes drilled into it as well)

3/16″ punch – Push in on Firing Pin

5/16″ punch – Retain Firing Pin into Slide

Installing the Extractor

Pick – Position Firing Pin

Lyman Tapper Hammer (Hammer with Brass and Nylon heads) – Install Extractor Pin

Install the Safety

#2 Roll Pin Holder Punch – Push down on Trigger Bar Detent

#2 Roll Pin Holder Punch – Push down on Safety Detent

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Align holes in right Safety Wing and to install the Spring Pins

Lyman Tapper Hammer (Hammer with Brass and Nylon heads) – Install Spring Pins

Install Firing Pin Block

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Hold Firing Pin Block into the frame

Brownells Universal Pistol Armorers Block (you can use a piece of 2X4 with holes drilled into it as well)

#2 Roll Pin Holder Punch – Start install of Spring Pin

Lyman Tapper Hammer (Hammer with Brass and Nylon heads)

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Finish install of Firing Pin Block Spring Pin

 


Beretta 92 96 M9 Frame Disassembly Video

Remove Grips

Brownells Magna Tip Magnetic Law Enforcement Handle with the 300-5 tip– Remove Grip Screws

Remove Disassembly Latch 

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch– Remove Spring

Remove Trigger 

3/32″ Punch – Remove Trigger Pivot Pin

Remove Mainspring Cap 

3/32″ Punch – Drive out pin

Brownells Universal Pistol Armorers Block (you can use a piece of 2X4 with holes drilled into it as well)

8 oz Ball Peen Hammer

Remove Hammer

3/16″ Punch – Push out Hammer Pivot Pin

Remove Sear 

1/16″ Punch – Push out Sear Pin

Remove Hammer Release and Firing Pin Block Lever 

1/16″ Punch – Push out Pin

Remove Extractor 

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Push out Spring Pin

1/8″ Roll Pin Punch – Push out Spring Pin

8 oz Ball Peen Hammer


 

Beretta 92 96 M9 Frame Assembly Video

Install Extractor 

Brownells Universal Pistol Armorers Block (you can use a piece of 2X4 with holes drilled into it as well)

#2 Roll Pin Holder Punch – Start the install of the Extractor Spring Pin

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Finish install of the Extractor Spring Pin

8 oz Ball Peen Hammer

Install Hammer Release and Firing Pin Block Lever 

5″ OAL Needle Nose Pliers – Install the Hammer Release Lever and Firing Pin Block Lever 

1/16″ Roll Pin Starter Punch – Align Firing Pin Block Lever

Lyman Tapper Hammer (Hammer with Brass and Nylon heads)

Install Sear 

3/32″ Punch – Temporarily install Sear in Frame

5″ OAL Needle Nose Pliers – Place Sear in Frame

1/8″ x 3″ Slotted Screwdriver – Place Sear Spring (Used for its magnetic tip)

Install Hammer

3/32″ Punch – Test Sear

Install Mainspring Cap 

3/32″ Punch – Hold Cap for pin install

Install Trigger

Tweezer – To place Trigger Spring

Install Disassembly Latch

 Tweezer – To place spring in the hole

Install Grips

Tweezer – To place lock washer in the grip

Brownells Magna Tip Magnetic Law Enforcement Handle with the 300-5 tip – Install Grip Screws
