AXIL GS Extreme 2.0

Is the AXIL GS Extreme 2.0 the Caldwell E-Max Killer?

Is the AXIL GS Extreme 2.0 the Caldwell E-Max Killer?

I have been a big fan of the Caldwell E-Max line of hearing protection for a while now. But, can the AXIL GS Extreme 2.0 change my mind about my Shadows, Shadows Pro and Powercords?

Even though I like the Caldwell products, they always fell just short of what I wanted in hearing protection. When I got a chance to test the AXIL line I jumped on the opportunity. After all there may be something better out there for me.

Watch Can the AXIL GS Extreme 2.0 REPLACE my Caldwell Shadows?

The AXIL GS Extreme 2.0 impressed me from the beginning. I like that the dual controls allow me to change the ambient noise and Bluetooth audio independently. That was one thing that I complained about the E-Max Line. When you turn on the ambient noise, the Bluetooth audio cuts down to such a low level that you cannot hear it unless it is a completely quiet environment.

Since the Bluetooth and ambient noise are controlled on separate pods, the cord is balanced. and does not pull to one side. Also, the cord is coated so as it rubs against clothing you do not get an annoying “zipper” noise that braided cables have.

As perfect as the GS Extreme 2.0 is, there is one flaw that I found annoying but not critical if you are paying attention. There is no auto-shutoff on the ambient noise. If you forget to turn it off, it will run the battery down when you are not wearing them.

Ask me how I know. The GS Extreme 2.0 has replaced ALL of my other hearing protection for range use. I think you are going to like these so go check them out today!
